RAF Lossiemouth 5 Force Protection Wing Return Home

Personnel from 5 Force Protection Wing based at RAF Lossiemouth (under the command of Acting Group Captain Ash Bennett) deployed to Afghanistan in early July to complete a 5 month deployment based at Kandahar as part of the International Security Afghanistan Force (ISAF) have arrived home following deployment on operation Herrick.
The Force Protection Wing which includes personnel from 51 Squadron RAF Regiment and reservist personnel from 2622 (Highland) Squadron have been responsible for the provision of off-base Force Protection for which they had to dominate 600 square kilometres of land surrounding the airfield.
