Description
Glamour Cakes, based in Elgin, has so far spanned two decades and three continents and grew out of a relentless passion for baking, art, design and all things yummy....
In her student days, Glamour Cakes founder, Andrea, used to stand with her nose pressed up against a bespoke cake shop window in Sydney, dreaming about having a cake business of her own. A few years later, employed as an embassy chef in the USA, Andrea was busy making dramatic and romantic cakes on the side for Washington DC brides.
In 2004 Andrea moved to idyllic Moray where her passion for baking and decorating flourished. Her talents were soon discovered by an enthusiastic clientele all over Scotland. Andrea inherited the baking gene (if nothing else) from Great, Great Uncle David Webster of Webster’s Biscuits, Brisbane, Australia; formerly of Crail, Fife.
At Glamour Cakes we enjoy working with couples to reflect the mood of the wedding. Each special occasion cake is individually designed to provide the opportunity to break the rules and express personal style.
We have an eye for pattern and colour and are noted for hand-painting on rolled fondant. Our pastillage flowers are soft, playful and modern. We love clean lines, minimal shapes and simplicity but also surprising detail and texture: appliqué flowers or randomly placed sugar petals.
Our glamorous cakes are dramatic, romantic, contemporary and fun and we hope you will enjoy them.
